Chad Lawson is a commercial and editorial photographer and creative entrepreneur based in Atlanta and the Owner of Chad Lawson Photography LLC. The company operates as a boutique creative studio serving fashion, beauty, hair, and lifestyle brands through commercial campaigns, educational workshops, events, and brand-driven digital marketing initiatives.
As a small but growing business, Chad Lawson Photography LLC offers interns the opportunity to work directly with the business owner and meaningfully contribute to brand growth strategy and visibility.
This is not a large corporate environment where interns may go unnoticed. Intern contributions will directly influence the company’s marketing efforts, and work produced will be actively used in real business operations — providing measurable impact suitable for resumes and portfolios.
Position Overview
The Marketing & Social Strategy Intern will support brand growth initiatives through social media strategy, trend research, PR opportunity analysis, content editing, and on-set brand documentation.
This role is designed for a marketing-focused student who wants hands-on experience shaping a growing creative brand rather than observing from the sidelines.
The selected candidate will work directly with the business owner and contribute ideas, execution support, and research that impacts brand positioning and digital growth.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Documentation & Content Capture
Capture behind-the-scenes photo and video content during all shoots, events, workshops, and brand activations using company-provided equipment.
Document brand-building moments, collaboration, and production workflow.
Identify content that supports marketing objectives.
Social Strategy & Trend Research
Monitor Instagram Reels and TikTok trends.
Identify trending audio, formats, and content styles.
Present weekly content suggestions aligned with brand positioning.
Recommend timing and execution strategies.
PR & Event Research
Research local creative, fashion, and marketing events.
Identify networking and visibility opportunities.
Provide recommendations for brand presence and partnership opportunities.
Content Editing & Design Support (Weekly Requirement)
Dedicate a minimum of 2 hours per week (remotely) to short-form video editing (Reels/TikTok).
Edit content using CapCut or Adobe Premiere Pro.
Add captions, structure clips, and align content with trending formats.
Create and assist with Canva-based promotional graphics (flyers, announcements, social media posts, event promotions).
Additional editing/design hours may be required depending on content volume and active campaigns.
Learning & Academic Credit
Intern will gain hands-on experience in:
Brand growth strategy within a small business environment
Social media trend analysis and implementation
Content editing aligned with digital marketing strategy
PR opportunity research and market positioning
Commercial production environments
Event marketing strategy
Creative entrepreneurship and boutique agency-style operations
It is the company’s goal to structure this internship as an academic credit-eligible experience. At this time, academic credit approval is not yet finalized. The company is actively working toward formalizing this structure and aims to have confirmation in place for future internship cycles.
Students seeking academic credit are encouraged to consult with their academic advisor regarding eligibility requirements.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Communications, Business (Marketing concentration), or related field
Strong interest in fashion, beauty, influencer marketing, and brand-building environments
Familiarity with Instagram and TikTok platforms
Proficiency in Canva
Working knowledge of CapCut or Adobe Premiere Pro for short-form editing
Professional demeanor in creative production environments
Reliable transportation required
General availability Monday–Friday between 5:00 PM–9:00 PM
Availability on weekends before 6:00 PM
Please note: Some weekend shoots or brand activations may occur outside of standard business hours depending on production schedules. Advance notice will be provided when possible.
Preferred:
Enrollment at an Atlanta University Center institution (Clark Atlanta, Morehouse, or Spelman) due to proximity to studio
Schedule & Compensation
Part-time
Internship begins March 2, 2026
Minimum of 2 guaranteed hours per week dedicated to content editing and design support (remotely)
Additional hours based on active shoot schedule and campaign needs
Hours fluctuate depending on production schedule; advance notice will be provided when possible
$25 per hour.
W-2 employee classification
Paid weekly
2–3 month internship term with potential renewal based on performance. 2 renewals max.
This position does not include employee benefits (no health insurance, paid time off, or retirement benefits).
Due to the nature of creative production schedules, occasional short-notice opportunities may arise. The intern is not required to accept short-notice on-set work opportunities and may decline based on availability.
Employment Conditions
Selected candidate will be required to:
Sign a Work for Hire Agreement stating that all content captured or created during paid working hours is owned by Chad Lawson Photography LLC
Sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) regarding confidential business practices, strategies, and client information
The company grants the intern permission to use completed works they contributed to for portfolio purposes, subject to approval.
